In the wake of a successful 12-week debut, the reality sensation “The Real Housewives of Nairobi” is reportedly preparing to unroll its second season, according to a well-placed source within the American Universal Studio Group franchise.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed  that plans for the sophomore season are already in motion, although specifics regarding the production timeline remain under wraps. “There’s a green light for a second season,” the source affirmed, “The finer details and the timeline, though, are something we’ll have to wait and see.”

The much-anticipated return of the Nairobi housewives is expected to hit the screens sometime next year, although a definitive schedule has not been confirmed.

The inaugural season, which wrapped up its final episode on Showmax this past Thursday, concluded with the grand finale of Susan’s opulent 40th birthday bash in Malindi. The episode also showcased the housewives forging deeper bonds, a theme expected to continue in the upcoming season.

Since its premiere in February 2023, the show has set unprecedented records, boasting the highest first-day views for any title on Showmax in Kenya. The Nairobi housewives managed to keep audiences spellbound week after week, reigning supreme on Showmax charts and causing a stir on Twitter with every new episode.

The show’s six charismatic housewives have captivated audiences with their contrasting personas. Minne Kariuki embraced her reputation as the Queen of Shade, while Susan Kaittany flaunted her high-class elegance. Sonal Maherali proved that her soft-spoken demeanor was not a sign of weakness, while Vera Sidika remained vivaciously outspoken, even in the throes of pregnancy. Lisa Christoffersen brought an adventurous spirit to the mix, and Dr. Catherine Masitsa balanced a commitment to family, business, and wealth, with an aversion to drama.

The first season was not without its riveting moments. From Vera’s fiery clash with Dr. Maria, who departed the show after just three episodes, to Minne’s heart-rending revelation of her miscarriage and Sonal’s journey to mental wellness, the show left viewers on the edge of their seats. As fans eagerly anticipate the second season, the question remains: What surprises will the Real Housewives of Nairobi have in store next?
