Mo Farah retained the Olympic 10,000 meters title on Saturday 12th July 2016 beating Kenya’s Paul Tanui in a thrilling sprint finish.

This was despite being accidentally tripped by his American training partner, Rudd, in the 12th minute. He however quickly got up and resumed the race.

The race was a hard fought contest between Mo Farah of Great Britain, the defending Olympic champion and a trio of Kenyans and Ethiopians. The Kenyan Team comprised of Kaworor, Muchiri and Tanui while the Ethiopian contingent comprised Tola, Demelash and Hadish.

Mo Farah is looking to win successive double Olympic titles in the 10,000 and 5,000 meters having already accomplished the feat in the World Championships.
