Starting November 2017, Kenya Power began migrating customers to a new customer management system. Consequently, customers were allocated new account numbers. This has led to many customers failing to find out their bills in time and getting error messages when they send a bill query to Kenya Power’s 95551 number using their old account number.
To find your new Kenya Power Account number, follow the instructions below:
Instructions to find your new Kenya Power account number
- Create a new message and type “Status” followed by old account number e.g. “Status7654321”. Do not send the suffix. For example, if your old account number is 7654321-01, do not include the -01 in the message.
- Send this to the number 95551.
- After a few minutes, you will get a text message showing you your new account number.
- To find out your bill, send the new account number to 95551
