Nairobi – In a surprising turn of events, Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition party Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, announced on Wednesday that the anti-government protests scheduled for Thursday, May 4th, have been canceled to allow for a renewed attempt at bipartisan negotiations.

This decision comes on the heels of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance removing Eldas Adan Keynan from their bipartisan talk team. National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi confirmed the opposition’s choice, marking a potential shift in the political landscape.

Supporters of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party hope that this move will pave the way for meaningful dialogue and compromise between the opposition and the ruling party, and ultimately, address the issues that initially sparked the protests.
