“Helpful for switching between accounts—such as your work and personal—now you no longer need to log out each time, carry two phones or worry about messaging from the wrong place,” the company elaborated in an official blog post.
To activate this feature, users can navigate to Settings and select the ‘Add Account’ option. The setup process necessitates a second phone with either a physical SIM or eSIM capabilities for multi-SIM functionality. This development comes on the heels of another significant update from WhatsApp, which introduced passkey support for Android, eliminating the need for SMS-based two-factor authentication.
