WhatsApp Launches Video Calling

Whatsapp has introduced video calling. In a blog post on the WhatsApp website, the FaceBook owned company announced that “in the coming days, WhatsApp’s more than one billion users can make video calls across Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone devices“.

To use the feature, users will first need to update the application on their phones. To start a video call, simply open a chat and tap the call icon at the top right corner of the screen. This will bring up a window with a voice and video call option. Select Video call to make a video call. Watch the video below.


 

WhatsApp is late to the party with this new feature since many messaging apps including Facebook’s own Messenger app already offer video calling. Other messaging apps that have this feature include Skype, Apple’s FaceTime, Viber, LINE and Google’s recently launched Duo, to mention a few.
