A Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) pools money from many investors to own property or fund property development. Every REIT must have a trustee: a licensed institution that holds the property on behalf of investors and makes sure the REIT manager follows the rules.
REIT trustees in Kenya are licensed by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA). According to the CMA register, these are the licensed REIT trustees as of November 2026.

- The trustee is not the same as the REIT manager, who runs the investments day to day. See our list of REIT managers in Kenya.
- Only invest in a REIT authorised by the CMA. The CMA keeps a separate list of authorised REITs on its licensee register.
- Other ways to invest: approved collective investment schemes.
