What Are the Kenya Police Telephone Hotline Numbers?
Fact-checked on
In this article
When trouble strikes, nobody wants to be scrolling through old WhatsApp forwards looking for a police number. Save these now. The numbers below are the official National Police Service (NPS) hotlines and related lines that work across the country.
Calls to the emergency lines are free from any mobile network in Kenya.
Police Emergency Hotlines
- 999 – Police emergency line
- 112 – Emergency line
- 911 – Emergency line
The National Police Service lists all three numbers as its emergency hotlines. Use them only for real emergencies, such as a crime in progress, a violent attack or a serious accident.
Reporting Crime Anonymously to the DCI

Tips
- Save 999 and the DCI toll-free number in your phone under clear names.
- When you call, state your location first (town, road, nearest landmark), then what happened.
- For your local police station’s number, ask at the station or your county’s police command. Personal numbers of individual officers change often, so we no longer list them.
Prank calls and non-emergency calls to 999 block real emergencies. Police have repeatedly asked the public not to misuse the line.
