Looking for a good place to buy make-up, skincare or a nice perfume? Nairobi has hundreds of small beauty shops, especially around River Road, Moi Avenue and the city malls. Notes

  • Our older version of this page listed about 230 small shops and suppliers with phone numbers from a 2017 directory. We could not confirm that those shops are still open or that the numbers still work, so we have removed them.
  • Branch lists change often. Call ahead or check the shop’s social media pages before you travel.

Beware of fake perfumes and skin-lightening creams that contain banned ingredients such as mercury or hydroquinone. Buy from reputable shops, check for a KEBS mark on locally made products, and be careful with any cream that promises to make you “lighter”.
