The Central Bank of Kenya’s Bank Supervision Annual Report 2025, Appendix XIX, lists the following three licensed credit reference bureaus. Use CBK’s directory to check licensing and the bureau’s own official channel for current consumer-service instructions.

CBK-listed bureaus

Licensed name Official website Email listed by CBK
Credit Reference Bureau Africa Limited, trading as TransUnion TransUnion Africa info@transunionafrica.com
Creditinfo Credit Reference Bureau Kenya Limited Creditinfo Kenya consumercare@creditinfo.co.ke
Metropol Credit Reference Bureau Limited Metropol info@metropol.co.ke

Requesting a report or correcting information

  1. Open the bureau’s official website and follow its current personal-credit-report process.
  2. Complete its identity checks through the authorised channel. Do not send identity documents to a social-media account simply because it uses a bureau’s logo.
  3. If an entry appears wrong, raise a dispute with the bureau and keep the reference and supporting records. You may also need to follow up with the organisation that supplied the information.
  4. Confirm the current service terms before paying for any optional certificate or additional service.

Warning: Do not pay a third party who promises to erase accurate credit history or guarantee a new loan. A credit bureau report is not itself a lender’s approval.

Office addresses and telephone numbers from the 2016 article have been removed to avoid directing readers to old consumer-service locations.
