Fact-checked on
The following providers publish recording services on their own websites or, for Studio Mashinani, through the responsible ministry. This is a selected list of recording options, not a ranking of record labels or an exhaustive business register.
Recording options
| Provider | Published location or coverage | What to enquire about |
|---|---|---|
| Ketebul Music | Studio in Tena Estate, along Outering Road, Nairobi | Recording and production; distinguish the studio from its head office |
| Kubwa Studios | Mombasa | Song and demo recording |
| Fast Cash Music Group | Casa Vera, Kamburu Drive, Nairobi | Recording, production, mixing and mastering |
| HitHouse at HiT LABZZ | 735 Muchai Drive, off Ngong Road, Nairobi | Recording rooms, engineering and production services |

Studio Mashinani is a public programme, not a private record label. Confirm that your chosen facility is accepting bookings and what support is available before travelling.
Agree on the work before booking
Ask for a written quotation showing studio time, engineer or producer fees, editing, mixing, mastering and revisions. Specify which final files you will receive and when. Agree separately on copyright, producer credits, any royalty share and permission to use samples.
A studio booking does not automatically include a recording contract, distribution or promotion.
Tip: Listen to recent work made by the particular producer or engineer you would hire. Confirm the session location directly; old directory addresses can refer to offices or former premises.
