Turned your Safaricom Bonga Points into data and now wondering how much is left? Good news: data bought with Bonga Points sits in your data balance like any other bundle, so you can check it the same way. Here is how to check both your data balance and your Bonga Points.
How to Check Your Data Bundle Balance
- On your Safaricom line, dial *544#.
- Choose the option to check your data balance. Your remaining data, including bundles redeemed with Bonga Points, will be displayed or sent to you by SMS.
You can also see your data balance in the My Safaricom app on the home screen.
How to Check Your Bonga Points Balance
- Dial *126#.
- Select Check Bonga Balance (the menu numbering may differ slightly).
- Your Bonga Points balance will be shown on screen.
How to Redeem Bonga Points for Data
- Dial *126#.
- Choose the redeem option and pick data (you can also redeem for airtime, SMS or minutes).
- Select the bundle you want and confirm. Then check your balance on *544#.
Tips
- Bonga Points can also be used to pay at participating Lipa na M-PESA merchants (Lipa na Bonga).
- If you run out of bundles, browsing may use your airtime at out-of-bundle rates. Keep an eye on *544#.
